Zaporizhzhia Airport approached to the mark of 400 thousand of passengers
Notwithstanding the fact that there is one more month left before the end of the year, Zaporizhzhia Airport has already come close to last year’s record for the number of passengers. According to statistics for 11 months, almost 393 thousand people passed through Zaporizhzhia air gateway, which is by 6.3% more than last year. Among them 295 thousand – on international flights and 97.5 thousand – on domestic ones. These figures were achieved despite the repair of the runway, which commenced on September 2 and lasted more than a month and a half, until October 22.
Also, the airport significantly exceeded the figures for November this year, compared to the same period last year. In particular, the total number of passenger throughput increased 37.5% from 33 to 45.5 thousand passengers. For domestic routes, growth was 85.5% and 22% for international ones.
It should be noted, that this year SkyUp Ukrainian low-cost airline has opened 3 flights from Zaporizhzhia – low-budget one to Kyiv, as well as flights to Sharjah and Tel Aviv.
It should also be noted that, in November, Zaporizhzhia Airport entered into cooperation with WizzAir – Hungarian low-cost airline (https://ozh.aero/zaporizkij-aeroport-vidkrivaye-odrazu-shist-novih-napryamkiv/). As a result, as early as March 2020, it is planned to open 6 flights to EU Member States at once, including Budapest, Vienna, Vilnius, Wroclaw, Gdansk and Krakow.
