INTELLECTUAL VIDEO SYSTEM OF TEMPERATURE SCREENING HAS BEEN INSTALLED IN ZAPORIZHZHIA AIRPORT

An intelligent video system for non-contact thermal screening and detection of facial masks has been installed at Zaporizhzhia International Airport. The same equipment is already working at the new airport of Istanbul and Milan Malpensa Airport.

The image from the five intelligent Mobotix thermal cameras is displayed on the monitors of the video surveillance supervisor units and medical staff. The cameras are configured to measure the temperature near nasal canal, because here the temperature is closest to the internal temperature of the human body.

Ruslan Artemov, Deputy Director of IT at the airport: “In case of deviation from the set temperature or absence of protective mask, the camera emits an audible and visual signal, which serves as a notification for staff and is a reason for additional inspection of a person entering the airport. With an automated thermal screening system, we achieved the desired throughput of the airport entrances during a pandemic. In the stream, we can measure the temperature of up to 20 people at a time. “

The cameras can also be used for other analytical purposes: counting passengers, recording atypical behavior, building heat maps for the rational allocation of airport resources, and so on.
